South Turtle Lake is a recreation lake as well as a complete fishing lake. It offers Northern Pike, Walleye, Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Black Crappie and even Bullhead.

There aren't a lot of mysteries to fishing the lake. It has abundant weeds, some good points and coves on its east side, bays to the north and west, and a hole in excess of 30 feet.
